Kanopy is a streaming film database which includes educational and other films. Specific licensed titles are available for streaming searchable in our library catalog, OnesearchAdditional documentary films may be found on the Documentaries Guide.
 

Information for Faculty 

  • Share a video: Kanopy videos may be linked in a Blackboard course using a permalink, through the online catalog (Onesearch), or played live from the instructor's computer while screen-sharing in Zoom.
    • Note: Kanopy does not permit uploading their videos to other software programs (i.e. Panopto). 
       
  • Request a video: Faculty may request additional Kanopy titles by contacting their collection strategist librarian.
     
  • Screen a video: Kanopy videos may be used for campus events. Per the library's licensing agreement, however, an event at which a Kanopy video is to be screened should not be advertised beyond the University community and the screening needs to take place on the University campus. No admission fees (or similar payments) may be charged.
