Licensed library resources are available through remote (off campus) access by currently enrolled students, and by faculty and staff of UNI. The CatID login is used for access these resources.
The library does provide links to some databases and other sources that are freely available and can be used by non-affiliated users. These include Google Scholar and several others. OneSearch!, the library's search engine, is also freely available to search from off campus.
UNI alumni also have access to some electronic journals, movies and other resources. A complete list is available at the library's A-Z databases webpage. UNI emeritus faculty have off-campus access to some databases also.
Online resources can be accessed with a valid CATID. For CatID and passphrase assistance, contact the IT service desk at (319) 273-5555.
If you know your CatID/passphrase are working for other resources (such as MyUNIverse) and you still experience problems accessing library resources off-campus, please complete this form, making sure to include as much detail as possible such as the browser, the database or article name, any error messages you received, etc.
