While Rod Library does not currently have a lactation room, there are several options on campus:
- Per Iowa state law, nursing in public is acceptable in any location where the mother is legally allowed to be. Children are welcome in all parts of Rod Library.
- Some study rooms offer somewhat more privacy for those wishing to use such a location. They are reservable via the Rod Library website (when not reserved, they are first-come, first-served).
- A non-private Family Study Room is available on the main floor near the west entrance. Also note there is a microwave for student use located near the Book Bistro. Refrigeration is not available.
- There are several designated lactation rooms on campus.
