The Rod Library collection includes financial statements from the 1980s for large, publicly held corporations in sources such as:
- Moody's Industrial Manual - print
These print volumes for 1966-1998 contain abbreviated versions of income statements and balance sheets for the companies that are covered.
They are located in the stacks at UNI Stacks HG4961 .M67.
Look in the company index at the front of the volume for a given year to get page numbers.
Later years are covered in a related set published by Mergent, on microfiche, located on the bottom floor of Rod Library.
- SEC File - microfiche
This and related microfiche sets contain selected SEC filings such as 10K annual reports, which include financial statements.
The microfiche are located in cabinets on the bottom floor of Rod Library, near the north wall.
Paper indexes are located on top of the microfiche cabinets. The indexes indicate the years and types of reports available for the various companies. Index entries include location numbers to use in retrieving the microfiche from the cabinets.
Microfiche readers are located west of the microfiche cabinets.
- Value Line Investment Survey
This is available in cabinets on the bottom floor of the Library, on microfilm (1972-1979) and microfiche (1980-2014)
Financial statements for more recent years are located on various free sites, such as corporate websites under headings like Investor Relations and such as the SEC EDGAR company filing database. Financials, with some analysis, also are available from Rod Library subscription databases such as LexisNexis Academic, Mergent Online, and NetAdvantage. See links for these and others under the Research Databases A-Z heading on the Rod Library home page.
