Yes, you can print from your laptop to printers in Rod Library using the UNI Mobile Print service. Click the Mobile Printing link on the left side of the Rod Library home page.
This page from ITS provides more details: https://www.uni.edu/its/kb/8345
Information Technology Services offers the ability for students, faculty, and staff to print from their own personal devices to university-owned printers (in certain, specific areas) via a service called UNI Mobile Print. Mobile Print allows you to login to a web portal, view a summary of your printing activity across campus, and to submit documents for printing on Mobile Print-enabled laser printers. Mobile Print will allow students, faculty, and staff to print documents from their own computers, on campus or off, without needing to install any complicated printer software or drivers.
In a nutshell, log on to the Mobile Print Web Portal, select Web Print and submit the document to be printed, and then select "penguin\PrintRelease-BlackAndWhite (virtual)" printer at Rod Library and release the job from one of the six Print Release Stations in the library, dedicated for black and white printing.
The ITS help page notes that UNI Mobile Print currently supports the following file formats:
- Microsoft Word Documents (.doc, .docx)
- Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx)
- Microsoft PowerPoint Slides (.ppt, .pptx)
- Microsoft XPS Document (.xps)
- Adobe PDF (.pdf)
